“Maranatha Aussies: Where Loyalty, Intelligence, and Excellence Meet”

The Maranatha Difference
Maranatha’s Foundational Obedience Training
Building a Strong Foundation for Everyday Family Life
At Maranatha Aussies, we believe training should begin early and be integrated naturally into daily life. Our older puppies and adult dogs are offered with Foundational Obedience Training designed to introduce structure, communication, household expectations, and real-world manners in a positive and age-appropriate way.
This training is intended to provide a strong foundational introduction — not fully finished or advanced obedience training. Our goal is to help create a smoother transition into family life while giving each dog a meaningful foundation that can continue developing after placement.
Training progress, adaptability, consistency, and skill retention will naturally vary based on age, maturity, personality, previous exposure, and individual learning ability.

Our Training Approach
Positive Reinforcement
We utilize reward-based methods designed to build confidence, engagement, trust, and willingness to learn.
Structure & Communication
Clear expectations, repetition, consistency, and calm guidance help puppies and dogs better understand boundaries and routines.
Real-Life Application
Our focus is not simply teaching commands, but helping dogs begin learning how to function successfully within everyday family environments.
Important Training Expectations
Foundational training provides an introduction and strong starting point — not a permanent or fully finished result without continued reinforcement.
For training foundations to remain intact and continue progressing successfully, all family members must provide:
-
Consistent expectations
-
Ongoing reinforcement
-
Continued practice
-
Clear communication and structure within the home
Without consistency after placement, previously learned behaviors can weaken over time, particularly in young or adolescent dogs.
For younger puppies, including many 8–10 week-old placements, training expectations and readiness will naturally differ based on developmental age.
Why Foundational Training Matters
Smoother Transition Into the Home
Early structure and exposure often help reduce stress and confusion during the adjustment period.
Improved Communication
Training helps establish clearer communication between dog and owner from the beginning.
Safety & Household Manners
Foundational recall, crate familiarity, leash exposure, and door manners help support safer daily interactions.
Confidence & Adaptability
Structured exposure and guidance help puppies become calmer, more confident, and better prepared for new experiences.
A Well-Started Companion
Our puppies and young adults are raised with intention, structure, and purpose. While every dog progresses differently, our goal is to provide families with a well-started companion that already has meaningful foundations in place and is prepared to continue learning within the home environment.
If you feel one of our companions may be a good fit for your family, we invite you to complete our Companion Match Application.
